Young Boy Ran Mad At Bodija Market Saying, "God has Said I Would Buy Benz..."

A young boy has ran mad at Bodija market. For those who are conversant with Ibadan,Bodija is a common place. And it happened at the market place in Bodija.

With the video,it was so sad how the young boy ran mad. And in the video he was heard saying, 'God has said I would buy Benz'. He kept on saying that, God has done it for me, he said I would buy Benz.

It was such a sad moment as the boy was seen displaying all manners of things. He removed his cloth and started jumping up. It was so good that, people came around him and tried to calm him down.

The women in the market and some other guys had to rally around him to help. They poured water on him and tried to bring him down.

What has led to this has not been discovered but its really painful how a young boy like him is experiencing such.

TCN: Free Electricity Nothing But Mere Propaganda

TCN: Free Electricity Nothing But Mere Propaganda

The recent announcement of a plan to give Nigerians two months of free electricity as part of palliatives for COVID-19 is nothing more than propaganda that cannot work, the Transmission Company of Nigeria has said.

The TCN faulted the announcement by power distribution companies that the Federal Government and the National Assembly would pay for the proposed two-month free electricity for customers.
Discos made the announcement through their umbrella body, the Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors.
Reacting to the development in Abuja on Thursday, the Managing Director of the TCN, Usman Mohammed, said, “There is this information that went round that power is going to be free.
“I don’t know where that information came from.
“But I can tell you that there is nothing like power is going to be free because the Federal Government cannot make power free. The Federal Government does not own the power.”
Mohammed explained that the Federal Government only owns the TCN while the generation and distribution companies were largely owned by private investors.
He said, “In the electricity industry, apart from the transmission, which is just the transporter, all the other chains do not belong to the Federal Government. So I cannot understand how somebody will concoct that information.”
Mohammed argued that those peddling the information were merely sharing propaganda that would not work.
He said, “But these are some of the people involved in propaganda who brand information that is very unnecessary, to be honest.
“I think at this stage what we need to do is to sustainably supply electricity and that is what we are doing.”
The TCN boss further stated that in the last two weeks that most parts of Nigeria had been on lockdown, operators in the power sector had worked and performed well.
However, the House of Representatives and electricity distribution companies raised a joint committee on the proposed two-month free power supply on Thursday.
Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, who presided over a meeting in Abuja with the companies and other officials, said the joint panel would work out modalities for the proposed two-month bill waiver for the most vulnerable people in the country.

ENUGU:AKWATTA MARKET SHUTDOWN OVER THE ABUSE OF GOVERNOR

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi
The Enugu state government has locked down one of the popular markets in the state, Akwatta market over alleged abuse of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Friday.
Following the abuse, the state shut the market where basic essentials such as foodstuffs and other items are sold.
Akwatta Market
Source gathered that the governor visited the market to observe whether his directives that all the markets in the state with the exemption of food markets should be closed down to contain the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the state.
Upon his arrival, he sighted various individuals trading non-essentials. While the governor asked that the shops be locked, traders allegedly called him unprinted names which angered him.
Residents said the closure is inhumane and an illicit act.
Meanwhile, the state government countered the residents as it argued that the allegations against the governor are false.
The allegations were “false, misleading, baseless, mischievous and a failed calculated attempt to undermine our genuine efforts to upgrade the environmental condition of the market for the health and wellbeing of our people”, the Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Emeka Onunze, said in a statement.
“We have temporarily relocated the traders of the Tomato market in Akwatta to Garki Market, Enugu, to enable the council rebuild the section of the Ogbete Main Market to standard before they return to the market to continue their business transactions.”

BENIN/ITSEKIRI CRISIS: BENIN GROUP, LAWYER REJECT AD-HOC PEACE COMMITTEE

BENIN/ITSEKIRI CRISIS: BENIN GROUP, LAWYER REJECT AD-HOC PEACE COMMITTEE

BENIN CITY—The hope of resolving the crisis between the Benins and Itsekiri in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo State may be far from over as the Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) an activist, Olayiwola Afolabi yesterday condemned the recent Ad-hoc committee set up by the Olu of Warr, His Majesty Ogiamen Ikenwoli. It would be recalled that the ad-hoc committee headed by Chief Tesigiweno Pesssu recently appealed for peace in the area saying it was consulting with both parties in the crisis to find a lasting solution.
But at a briefing yesterday, President of BSM, Curtis Ugbo said neither the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II nor Governor Godwin Pbaseki was consulted before the committee was set up.
“We view with grave concern the recent moves of Olu of Warri , Ogiame Ikenwoli in setting up an ad-hoc peace implementation committee on the Ologbo crisis. We view the move as a way of shielding Johnson Atseleghe from justice and we will not take that.
“The question BSM would ask the Olu of Warri is where was he all these years when Atseleghe and his band of criminals have been making life unbearable for the Benin people in Ologbo Dukedom killing and maiming them at will? Is Ologbo dukedom in Itsekiri land?” On his part, Afolabi while commending the position of BSM said “Ologbo is not in Delta state, Ologbo is in Edo State. Anything that connects, affects or happens in Ologbo is not Delta that will come and settle a problem in Ologbo so I condemn in its entirety the action of Olu of Warri who is not an indigene of Edo state to come and set up a committee to look into what is happening in Ologbo. That is the concern of Edo state or our Oba of Benin so except he gets directive from the Oba of Benin. His action is wrong, it is illegal and it is anti-cultural.’’

P.M.B CHARGED NIGERIANS TO ENDURE MORE AS COVID-19 LOCKDOWN EXTENDS

P.M.B CHARGED NIGERIANS TO ENDURE MORE AS COVID-19 LOCKDOWN EXTENDS

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday implored Nigerians to comply with the government’s directive on movement restriction “once more” in order to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic that had infected 305 Nigerians in the last few weeks.
The president in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, thanked Nigerians for their patience, resolve and strong determination to defeat the coronavirus.
He also promised more interventions for vulnerable citizens in the country.
President Buhari had on March 29 ordered a total cessation of movement in Lagos, Ogun, and the Federal Capital Territory for an initial period of 14 days in a bid to check the spread of the disease in the country.
He said: “But we must ask you – once more – to observe restrictions on movement where they are in place, and follow the instructions of our scientists and medical advisers: stay home, wash your hands, save lives.
“The freedoms we ask you to willingly forsake today will only last as long as our scientific advisers declare they are necessary. But they are essential – the world over – to halt and defeat the spread of this virus.
“For those who suffer most egregiously, the Government has announced multiple measures to assist: 70,000 tonnes of grain is being released from the National Strategic Grain Reserves for distribution to those in most need; distribution of small cash payments are also being made, and will continue to be made by the federal government in the states and local government areas.”
The president urged members of the public to follow public announcements via the mass media for instructions as to how to receive government support, and learn of more public assistance in the coming days.

Buhari added: “All that the government is asking you to endure is because nowhere in the world today is there any known way of defeating this pandemic. There is no vaccine. And that means there are choices to be made: between continuing as usual, or accepting the restrictions even when they come with unintended consequences.
“But at this darkest hour, it remains our duty to offer you the full and unvarnished truth: This is a global pandemic — 210 countries and territories across the globe are affected. We cannot expect others to come to our assistance. No one is coming to defeat this virus for us.
“Instead, the defeat of the virus in our country will be in our hands, alone. We cannot wait for others. We can only depend on ourselves now. And so we must — and we will — end this outbreak ourselves as Nigerians, together.”
